Mice typically enter our homes between October and February, looking for food, water and shelter from the cold. While these rodents may look cute, mice spread more germs than most people realize. Mice can actually carry as many as 200 human pathogens!
- Mice may be small but they are hungry critters, eating between 15 and 20 times a day.
- A typical house mouse is messy and produces between 35 and 95 droppings per day.
- Mice can get EVERYWHERE, they are good jumpers, climbers, and swimmers.
- Mice can live about 5 months in the wild, but much longer in the comfort of a warm house.
If you spot a mouse in the house, it is safe to assume there are more or there will be soon. Female mice can give birth when they are two months old and are able to have babies 6 to 10 times per year. Each litter can contain 6-12 pups. It can take as little as 3 months for a small infestation to get out of control
Do You Have A Mouse Problem?
If you have a rodent infestation, you may notice rodent droppings in drawers and cupboards or around food packages. You may also see nesting materials, such as shredded cardboard or paper. Other signs include signs of chewing on food packages, holes chewed in floors and walls, and stale odors coming from hidden areas in your home.
House mice are not only a nuisance, but they can pose significant health and property threats.
