If you have a home, chances are, you will end up playing host to occasional invaders like flies and centipedes. Insects are annoying, and they can carry diseases. In some case you may require some form of fly control to eliminate these pests.
Flies
There are more than 100 pathogens associated with common house flies. They can lead to disease in animals and humans. Flies contaminate or destroy more than $10 billion worth of agricultural products each year.
Appearance/Identification
Flies are generally black or gray in color. Some have black stripes on the thorax while others have a metallic appearance. The size of flies varies greatly among species.
Behavior, Diet & Habits
Flies consume a wide variety of food, including human and pet food, trash and excrement. They tend to rest on ceilings, floors and walls during the day and near food sources at night.
Life Cycle
The life cycle of a fly can range from a few days to a few months. Some live a year or longer.
Signs of Infestation
Adult flies are the most common sign of an infestation. You may also see larvae crawling out of breeding material.
